The Drifter’s Escape is an exhibition of new paintings by five Liverpool artists. The exhibition is part of Liverpool Art Month and will include an exciting event called John Wesley Harding Revisited. All five artists show paintings that pertain to the theme of The drifter’s Escape, either in very direct terms or very loosely; from Charlton’s historical portraits of Outlaws, Kemp’s paintings of constructed American landscapes showing scenes of death and tragedy, Nick Sykes’ quasi abstract landscapes/portraits steeped in myth and the outcasts, cowboys and drifters in the works by Quin and Turnross.

In order to help raise the vital funding needed to promote and facilitate the events taking place for Liverpool Art Month, selected professional artists across Merseyside have dedicated their time to contribute to ‘Making Shapes.’
This is a crowd funding project that asks artists to create an original artwork using a small wooden Art Month shape – the piece can be inventive as the artist wants but must be representative of their individual practice.
Each artist has been provided with two pieces of wood that can be combined and styled in any way the artist sees fit. These artworks will then be displayed at the Art Month Hub venue situated in Liverpool’s Albert Dock, and sold to raise the funds needed for the Art Month. Artworks by high profile artists will be sold separately in an online auction.
In the spirit of supporting Liverpool Art Month, the artists are donating the artworks from the goodness of their hearts and receiving no payment.
Bridewell Studios and Gallery would like to invite artists to
submit work for Possible Impossibilities, a contemporary drawing
show to be held in conjunction with The Liverpool Art Prize and
Liverpool Art Month. Artists can submit up to 3 images of their
work for selection. There is no size restriction, but artists may want

our definition of drawing and drawing practices is a very open one.
Workshops and site-specific interventions will also be considered for

station on Prescot St. Liverpool, opposite the Royal Hospital chimney
stack. Submissions or proposals that respond to the site are welcome.

Liverpool Art Fair is an annual four day event which aims to showcase a wide range of affordable original art by a plethora of local artists; providing a unique insight into the region’s creative talent and the opportunity for everyone, from seasoned collector to first time art buyer, to own their own piece of the Liverpool art world.
The inaugural Liverpool Art Fair took place from 1st to the 4th June 2012, and showcased the work of over 70 artists, selected from over 200 submissions. Hundreds of visitors joined us over the Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend to celebrate the wealth of talent in the region, and many are now the proud owners of their own piece of Liverpool art. A smaller, more informal event, Liverpool Art Fair: Print Edition, was also held at Camp and Furnace in December 2012, offering visitors the chance to purchase locally produced original and limited edition prints; from linocuts and etchings to photographs and screenprints, in the run up to Christmas. We hope to build on these successes, and ensure Liverpool Art Fair becomes a key annual event in the arts calendar of the North West.
Liverpool Art Fair 2013 will take place from 24-27th May, at Camp and Furnace in Liverpool’s thriving Baltic Triangle. Once again, this is an open submission event, and we are inviting all artists based within a 25 mile radius of Liverpool, to submit work for inclusion.
Please visit the SUBMIT page of the website for more details and a submission form, and note that the deadline is 9am on Monday 15th April.
Work for inclusion will be selected by our independent panel and successful artists will be notified at the beginning of May.
Arena Studios and Gallery would like to invite Merseyside artists to submit work for our 11th annual auction to be held for a second year in conjunction with The Liverpool Art Prize and Liverpool Art Month.

All submitted work will be viewed and selected by a panel consisting of members from the Liverpool Art Prize Consortium. Due to time restrictions on the night it is likely that only one piece of artwork from each artist will be selected however this may not always be the case. Successful artists will be notified by email and requested to deliver their artworks to Arena Studios. Work will be catalogued, photographed and posted on both Arena’s and the Art Prize Consortium websites and across all the usual social media networks.
